You can import PDF-compatible Adobe Illustrator files (.ai) directly into an open document in your Microsoft Expression Blend project.
When you import an Illustrator file into Expression Blend, Illustrator layers, groups, and objects are converted to Expression Blend containers and objects with associated properties. Understanding how Illustrator objects are imported into Expression Blend will help you integrate Illustrator files into your Expression Blend projects more quickly and efficiently.
When you save your file in Illustrator, make sure that the Create PDF Compatible File check box is selected in the Illustrator Options dialog box. Otherwise, you will not be able to import your Illustrator files into Expression Blend.

To import an Illustrator file
Open the document into which you want to import the .ai file.

A new Canvas object with the same name as your imported file is added to your document. If images are imported as a part of your .ai file, a new folder (named AvatarSymbols_Images in this example) is created in the root folder in the Projects panel to contain all the converted image files.
Note: If there are no images associated with your project, a folder will not be created in the Projects panel.

In the Projects panel, right-click the .csproj file, and then click Add New Folder.

Layers, groups, and objects
Expression Blend imports Illustrator layers and groups as nested XAML Canvas objects containing paths and images. Nested Canvas objects are used as layout containers to make them easier to work with in Expression Blend. The following information will help you understand how to work with Illustrator files after they are imported.
Layer names
Layer names are preserved for the top-level groups (Avatars in the preceding image). After you import your Illustrator file into Expression Blend, you can change the name by right-clicking the object in the Objects and Timeline panel and then clicking Rename, or by double-clicking the object name and then typing directly in the object name field.
File structure and groups
Illustrator groups do not exist in PDF-compatible files, so are not imported into Expression Blend. However, the objects contained within an Illustrator group are imported as individual objects with the same positioning as in the Illustrator group.
Object types
Images are imported as PNG files and are added to an images folder in the Project panel, and added as Image objects in the Objects and Timeline panel. Text and vector objects are imported as editable paths and appear in the Objects and Timeline panel.
Visibility and lock
Visibility settings for Illustrator layers imported into Expression Blend are preserved. However, only visible objects within layers are imported. You can change which objects are imported into Expression Blend by changing the visibility settings of the objects within each layer in Illustrator.
Lock settings are ignored.
Editable content
If the imported content is editable, you can modify the appearance of the content in Expression Blend by modifying the object properties. The following table describes Illustrator elements that are editable in Expression Blend. Use the Description column to locate the properties for the object in order to modify them in Expression Blend.

For best results, use only one fill acting as an opacity mask in your Illustrator file. OpacityMask properties are located in the Brushes category in the Properties panel. In addition, a PNG file is added to the project. The PNG file is the source for the ImageBrush.
Note: You can verify whether or not multiple fills has been applied to an object by viewing the object properties in the Appearance panel in Illustrator.
Clipping mask Clip property An Illustrator clipping mask is imported as a Clip property. Clip properties are located in the Miscellaneous category in the Properties panel.
Note: The Clip property has limited support in Windows Phone projects.

The following Illustrator features are supported in Expression Blend. Where noted, features can be edited in Expression Blend.
Note: Although Expression Blend supports the following Illustrator features, for best results, create your Illustrator file using only vector art.
Text

It is partly true. You get stuck in name check , somebody get stuck at I-140, All in all this whole system is purposefully created to keep doors locked "legallly". The first and foremost question should be how the hell government has decided 140000 visas not 40000 and not 240000 but only 140000 and why the hell discrimination against people from only 4 countries?
Infact employment based immigration is for sufficing the need of the market then let market decides what immigration numbers should be set as ceiling... If US economy need 7 milion in year 2007, ceiling should be 7 million and next year US market may need only 7000 then for that year ceiling should be 7000. I believe if they may freshen up the whole EB GC mess with starting restructuring based on this concept then only in future we can expect flawless legal immigration...

Does this mean many of them will be laid off or sent back? Does USCIS hire more people during the 7 million year and lay them off in the next year? I am in a similar situation...filed for AP in June...mine got approved...wife's AP has not gotten approved yet....planning to travel in early December.
I tried expediting for financial loss and got email saying that is not enough reason....
I am thinking of refiling my wife's I131 and paying the extra $300...now. What do you guys think...is there a chance of approval before end of November or is it a lost cause...

We (me, my wife and my son) are submitted 485 applications on July 7th to Nebraska service center latter they transferred to Vermont from there it again transferred to Taxes Service. Unfortunately I forgot to write the amount in wordings in my wife's 485 application check so they rejected my wife's application on Oct 9th, they enclosed the letter to re submit the application by using the new fee. We re submitted on Oct 15th by enclose the two checks $325 and $1010 along with the covering letter and the letter what they are given.
Again they rejected the application in Dec 12th by mentioning Visa number is not available for this application. That time my attorney is not there He went to India so no body inform to me. He came back on Jan 28th we re submitted again by explaining all the details, but they reject on Feb 14th mentioning the same reason Visa Number is not available.
I have seen so many people are got their receipt numbers if they re submitted the application for any mistakes. Me my son got the receipt numbers and Fingerprint every thing.
My Attorney is telling we need to wait for PD current. Mine is PD for EB2 India 6/6.
My wife doesn't get her receipt 485 number I am not able to use my EAD.
Can any body suggest how to approach this case? Or is any one face same issue.

I see that for EB2 the PD is 01 APR 2004 now. I want to know if I-485 approvals is linked to this PD date or they will work independent to these days.

Recently, I heard the same thing from someone else (was it stucklabor??). It appears that USCIS is being proactive and granting three year approvals once I-140 has been approved. So, there is a chance that this is what happened in your case too.
Either way, since, this appears to work in your favor, I would suggest sending this question for the lawyer call. If it is accepted and answered, it will be posted on the forum so that you and others in similar situation get a definite reply.

Given your situation, you guys will be staying away from kid for a decade or more. Once your wife delivers the baby in India, file for a baby's green card. For tentative dates on family reunion, please refer family based 2nd preferences at http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/bulletin/bulletin_4428.html - lighter note these dates or tentative only not written in stone :D
If I were you, I would not allow your wife to give birth in India and miss watching the child grow.

This is one of the few exceptions when person does not need visa to travel.

The pressure will be for H1B provisions. I am not sure, if anyone else, except for us who are caught up in retrogression, cares for GC provisions.
what it means is - we need to work harder, utilize lobbying pressure to get all the current provisions in the SKIL Bill cleared.
this probably the best info out there. There is industry pressure, bi partisan support, approval from the senate. just a matter of time.

this probably the best info out there. There is industry pressure, bi partisan support, approval from the senate. just a matter of time.

Now after AC21 - Two RFEs on that - gap in EAD I have received a notice for initial interview. It basically says: -
Who should come with you?
if the petition is based on your marriage, your petitioner spouse.
if the petition is based on parental relationship, your sponsoring parents or child.
What should you bring with you.
All EADs, Travel documents, all I-94s etc.
Originals and copies of All the supporting documentation submitted with the application.
Birth certificates.
Letter from current employer and last IT returns.
We have not received any notice for my wife. There is no LUD on any case for last one month. And the case is at national benefits Center, interview in Atlanta. I am just confused. What does this mean? What is meant by all supporting documentation submitted with the application?
I am completely confused, worried and getting tense. Can anyone throw some light on this please????????????????

Received REF this week: for LCA vioation for a particular period.
I ve approved labor, 140 and EAD, still working on valid H1 with the same employer since 2003.
My employer missed filling LCA FOR 2006.
