I don't think its much different from what is posted. Only one time contributions are being considered for this event.
I have a shared doc with StarSun and all known ones have been accounted for the above total.
Only one month left to achieve our funding goals.
It does look like there are only a few hundred (~200) willing to actively participate for the good of others. About 0.04 % of all EB2, EB3 filers.
One possible strategy.......
Dividing 50,000 into that, it will be great if you hardworking people, fighting for legal immigrants, can touch about $200-400 each,
while the rest watch from the sidelines and cheer for us :), and also debate & analyze spiritedly.....

Recd EAD and AP - 09/06

Its not about stereotyping...its about being fair....how can people who have come here illegally be allowed a path to naturalization while we have been waiting in line for so long? I came here because I had a certain idea about the makeup and composition and ideology of this country (liberty, equality, etc.) Making such a move will invariably change the demographic of the nation. Now that would be an intentional act. Not the natural pace at which migration/assimilation and diversification occurs. I have nothing against that.

In ideal situation Desi employer should provide value rather than just scrape money as revenue sharing mechanism.
If a desi employer can go and get projects and becomes preferred vendor, he would not even do H-1s. He will use a Sub. Believe me H-1B visa is a pain in the ass even for the employer too.
There is a reason desi employers exist. both the desi employers and desi employees pick the best possible scenario/solution with respect to their situation.

Looks like this is a good idea. Even if FB2 is not current, USCIS might allow applying for 485 in such cases.
Maybe someone more knowledgable or from the core members can throw some light on this.

Opening SR is like making a wish to god , which may come true
I opened SR when my wife lost her EAD in post , they gave me a 45 day time frame , nothing happened .. Called again and they open other SR , and asked again to wait for other 45 days ... I guess this cycle continues
I asked about my first SR while opening a second SR , reply they had no idea as they requested it with CIS , funny answer I also asked why there is a number if they have no idea ... By the way you will get letter from CIS stating that they received the request and they are processing it and you will hear from us with in 45 days .. If not call us ...ah ah
At last I was able to get EAD with in 5 days with the help of CISOmbudsman .

My situation is similar too.
The employer is not ready to file the 485, thinking that I may leave the company after 6 months.
I have the I-140 receipt notice , but no approval notice.
There is no way he is going to issue a employment letter , still debating my options.
What if you assure him by signing a 2 year bond. Once you get the card, give him the finger

Here is my USPS status so far , they are slow in updating than Fedex/UPS.
Its also true that for Next day delivery they charge $20-25 but Fedex/UPS charges $80-$100. Lets hope it actually reaches there.

In Your example, Is B working for the same company or different company in 2010. As you know experience working for the same company does not count towards EB2. B has to take another job at a different company to qualify for EB2. Am I correct in this?

By law the job should be in different company. However many desi employers are having two or more sister companies. They get it applied under another sister company's name.
Had it been a different company too this porting of date for B (my example above) is not justified. Because when B had originally applied he did not have the EB2 qualification/experience. He gained it later, so he should not be allowed to use the original date for EB2. The law should be the new perm date for the EB2 should be the priority date.
The porting of date should only be allowed in same category, if someone changes a job after 180days of 485 and remains in same category.

The legal or technical fact remains that no-one guranteed us GC and truth of the matter is most of us said "No" when immigration officer asked " do you have plans to settle in State?" So their is no question of equitable treatment.

After 2005, I changed my mind and we had applied twice (me and my spouse) and hence we marked yes on the question whether any immigrant application was filed on our behalf. No we did not lie there. And even if many people did, do you think those who come from Europe or visa free countries mark "yes" when they apply first time? So your point is moot there. Most people from visa free countries come here work here visa free and go back. They never even get asked a question. How come we get fingerprinted, photographed twice, interrogated twice and yet targeted when it comes to GC?

After 2005, I changed my mind and we had applied twice (me and my spouse) and hence we marked yes on the question whether any immigrant application was filed on our behalf. No we did not lie there. And even if many people did, do you think those who come from Europe or visa free countries mark "yes" when they apply first time? So your point is moot there. Most people from visa free countries come here work here visa free and go back. They never even get asked a question. How come we get fingerprinted, photographed twice, interrogated twice and yet targeted when it comes to GC?
I am not against capitalism but I am against fighting injustice such as you dont get GC because you were born in India. And yes change will come but if we dont do anything we get nothing.

How does a (I485) spouse doesnt have EAD and AP on hand (even if not using it and in H4/L2 etc)?
Wont they have problem when the dates become current and GC is issued to primary.
Lets say I have PD of Aug 2007 and If govt makes me to file under EB and my wife under FB. When date becomes current in EB ( which has higer probability ) I will be able to file but my wife will not.
Now questions will be what will be her status ? If I switch to EAD ? second if govt give them a legal status but they have to wait for 3-4 years to date become current and file for 485.

For all those waiting for approval, its does help to find out if a visa number has been requested for your application. My understanding is that all the applications which are ready for adjudication are moved to a separate area and visa number is requested for those.Infact if you can find out (I think the guys at Infopass only have access to that information. Not sure if the level 2 service does) it helps. If a visa number has been assigned or requested for your application it will get approved.

You might be right. Check the response senator got from USCIS on Aug 6th. I was later approved on Aug 16th.

In reviewing the electronic records, it does appear that the contractor has placed these cases in a location where they will be pulled and sent to an officer. We are unable to request the files be moved to an Adjudications Officer because our Records Division is running an electronic sweep to pull the files with available visas. Files will be pulled through this sweep and sent to an Officer. We are generally processing about 4000 employment-based cases a month and the cases with available visas are being pulled through these sweeps.

This may be the *best advice*, imo.
Most "youngsters" (makes me feel really old now.. doesn't it.. ) visiting the U.S. for business/work/education seem to have no plans of residing in this country permanently. Most I've talked to in the past year or two are keen on returning home, or somewhere else.
Particularly true in case of India, imo.

Give them a year or two more, when they have become comfortable with the american lifestyle and facilities we now take for granted (driving on freeways, easy access to libraries, parks to go for a run etc), and they will be probably singing a different tune.
I came here eight yers ago muttering the same "Will make a few bucks and go back home" line. Still here and living it up :)
I took up running 6 years ago primarily as i was trying to quit smoking, and also, there was a great running track right outside my house (obviously, free for anyone to use). Then I went to Mumbai last year and decided to go for a run, five minutes into the run and i was being chased by 2 dogs (and i don't mean the cops :p). The point i am trying to make here is. There are things in this country that we start taking for granted. lets appreciate it!
Another tip i would suggest to keep your mind occupied is to learn a foreign language. Invest in an Ipod if you do not have one already. Download free podcasts thet teach french,spanish, german etc. Listen to it while running. You are doing two things at the same time, staying fit and learning.
maybe we can have an IV 5K run sometime in the spring if things do not change. just a suggestion..
